EQUIPMENT FAQ

Q: Why is SPMHA renting equipment now rather than loaning it for free?

A: The rental fee is meant to offset a portion of the overall cost of purchasing new equipment as well as cleaning and maintaining current stock.  The rates are far lower to parents than the cost of purchasing equipment and helps to ensure the longevity of the program.

Q: Can I still exchange equipment if my child outgrows the gear over the course of a season?

A: Yes, equipment can be exchanged during the rental period for no additional fee.

Q: Can I rent month-to-month rather than pay for a full season?

A: Yes.  A minimum of one month will apply.

Q: How do I arrange to get equipment?

A: Registered goalie parents will receive an email advising of dates and times when equipment can be picked up.  Divisional Directors will advise coaches of equipment pick up times and dates for Initiation and Novice team equipment.

Q: I’m a Novice coach and my teams needs a second set of equipment.  Do we have to pay for it?

A: Yes.  Each Initiation 2 and Novice team receives one set of goalie equipment to share amongst the team.  The cost of renting additional sets will need to be covered either by the team or the goalie parents.  The exception for Initiation and Novice is Full Right gloves (right handed catcher/left hand blocker) which some teams may need.

Q: Are there different rates for new vs, used gear?

A: No.  The rates take into consideration that most of the time you are renting gear that has been previously used.
